The Wahl Family | Family Beach Session | Muskegon, MI

As the year 2020 came to a close, we started to see a huge uptick in family inquiries for the months of June-August. The reason? We think it’s actually quite simple: families were missing each other. Distances that seemed far now felt completely titanic as families that were used to seeing each other at least once or twice a year were now going into a new year without ever getting to see each other in person. A year later, we ended out 2021 thinking that everything would going back to normal, but instead, a beautiful thing happened.

Families kept coming together. Vacations that once were reserved for only immediate families now plumed into huge gatherings where multiple generations would come together to simply enjoy the fact that they could be with each other. Those gatherings now hold a special kind of significance, as we all now understand a little clearer that tomorrow is not promised to any of us, so we should take to today as the gift that it truly is.

We have so enjoyed the times we have been able to spend over the last few years getting to celebrate “family” with so many different groups, especially the groups that have to arrive at their session in multiple car loads! The Wahl family is a perfect example of family coming together, and as we look outside our window at the snowy landscape, we think a warm evening on the beach is just the thing we all might need today!
