Taylor + Luke | Engagement | Holland, MI

Seasons come and go in our lives all the time. However, when we say “seasons,” we aren’t talking about spring or fall; we’re talking about seasons where people come and people go. We rarely share this, but one of the hardest parts of this job is saying “goodbye” to our couples once their wedding is over. And two weeks ago, we were going through another sad season as another beautiful wedding ended with us saying goodbye to another lovely J+A bride and groom. But just as seasons end, new seasons begin and as we met Taylor and Luke for their engagement session the following evening, we were reminded that the “seasons” are what make this job so incredibly fulfilling.

Although Taylor and Luke would tell you that they don’t take photos often, we secretly think these two moonlight as models on the side, especially after their downtown Holland engagement shoot! As we spent the evening with them, we quickly grew to learn that giving these two the simplest idea for a photo would immediately turn into moment after moment of beauty. However, our favorite moments by far remained the walks to and from our cars between locations where Andrea and Taylor would talk about life and Josh and Luke learned about what each other did for work and leisure.

Taylor and Luke, the grace and poise you brought to Holland literally took our breath away. Hearing your stories of your life together so far only heightened our appreciation for how you two are so simply and beautifully made for each other, and we kept finding ourselves hoping that the sun would stay in the sky just a little bit longer so we could keep the session going. Thankfully, we only have to wait a few months to see you two again, and we cannot wait for the day you two get to take the leap and become husband and wife. We’ll see you there, cheering you on
