Megan + Nathan | Joyful, Summer Wedding | Watermark Country Club | Grand Rapids, MI

July 5, 2023

The crowd continued to line up along the pathway, banners in hand. They had just witnessed a beautiful ceremony, and now, as if to officially begin the celebration, Megan and Nathan’s guests prepared themselves to raise their voices in cheering on the newlyweds. Before the crowd knew it, Megan and Nathan burst out of the church into the sunlight, running down the pathway created by the friends and family who have loved them over their lives. Nathan stopped halfway through, wrapped an arm around his new wife, and dipped her a gentle kiss, prompting the crowd to explode in cheers. The celebration could finally begin!

Although we have only been a part of Megan and Nathan’s lives since last year, their wedding day helped us understand what an amazing team these two make. Each decision and consideration was carefully weighed by the both of them in an effort to create a day that not only honored their marriage, but also the people who had helped them get to this point. In leu of seeing each other for the first time as they walked down the aisle, Megan and Nathan desired to spend time together before the festivities began and instead read their vows to each other in the privacy of a tender moment during their bridal portraits.

The rain of the weekend decided to hold off just long enough for Megan and Nathan to have a wedding day that was void of bad weather but full of joy. From conducting their ceremony at their local church, to celebrating at the expansive Watermark Country Club’s Ballroom, each aspect of the day felt so uniquely yet perfectly “them.” Special touches were sprinkled throughout the evening, from the bridal party entering with hockey sticks as a homage to Nathan’s favorite past time, and then to Megan surprising her Dad with a photo of him dancing with her when she was little during their first dance.

Megan and Nathan, all we can say is thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your lives for the past year! We know that a lot of hard work, coordination, and love was poured into the planning of your wedding day; and ironically, you have now stepped into a new season of life where hard work, coordination, and love are going to be tremendous qualities to bring into your marriage. We so hope you enjoy this new adventure you are embarking on.

All our best!
