Lauren + James | Sleek Black Barn Wedding | Black River Barn | South Haven, MI

December 13, 2023

The crowd continued to cheer as Lauren and Jimmy made their way down the lit path. Although night had already fallen, the walkway in front of them was glowing with the growing light of the sparklers held by both friends and family. The night’s celebration had only begun, and as Lauren and Jimmy made their way down the path, laughing along with the rest of the crowd, our minds drifted back to the speeches at dinner, as multiple people shared about Lauren and Jimmy’s long journey to finally make it to their beautiful wedding day!

South Haven, Michigan holds many memories for Lauren and Jimmy, from their first date exploring the town and reenacting scenes from their favorite movies, to their engagement session with yours truly a few months back. It only seemed fitting then that South Haven would be the perfect place for them to say “I Do,” and as the vendors began to arrive and decorate the already exquisite Black River Barn, Lauren and Jimmy spent the morning relaxing and reminiscing about the journey that they had taken over so many years to arrive on this day. Thankfully, this day was well worth the wait, as everyone’s breath was taken away as Lauren walked down the aisle towards her groom, tears flowing from his eyes at the sight of his bride.

Although the day began with a quiet start, the party quickly began as soon as the ceremony concluded with thunderous applause and cheers from the crowd. Before they knew it, Lauren and Jimmy were cutting their cake and listening to the kinds words from both their families and their bridal party. With the reception fully underway, Jelliefish Productions carried the crowd off into a world of dancing as Lauren and Jimmy were able to steal away for their final golden hour portraits before joining their guests on the dance floor.

Lauren and Jimmy, the excitement and passion you two have for life displayed itself so clearly on your wedding day, but even more so when we were able to watch the two of you together. So many little beautiful moments happened during your wedding day, both between the two of you and also with your friends and families. As you embark on this new adventure as husband and wife, always remember those first dates to South Haven and the joy you both found in them. So much of our world thinks that the best parts of marriage are the exciting moments and huge adventures, but the sweetest times are often the smallest, and that is a beautiful thing.

All our best!
