The laughter could be heard across the room. Just a few moments earlier, the bride had been effortlessly lifted into the air and spun around, a moment that felt like it was straight out of a novel. Without even waiting to catch his breath, the groom then immediately signaled that he would like to be lifted up as well, and after a valiant attempt was made, Connor quickly came back down to the ground in a moment that brought the room to tears of laughter. But for everyone watching, this beautiful moment was nothing new with Katie and Connor. Two souls that brought laughter and joy to everyone around them had just become husband and wife, and watching them dance with smiles on their faces seemed beautifully fitting to both their family and their friends.

Even though they began the day separated from each other, Katie and Connor knew that the morning would soon be over, and the festivities would begin, which included finally getting to see each other for the first time. While Katie and her bridesmaids prepared in the heart of New Vintage Place, Connor and his friends spent the last minutes of the morning raising a glass to good times and good memories. By the time the groomsmen had arrived at New Vintage Place, the venue had sprung to life as Truer Design’s floral team brought Katie’s dream of a “garden explosion” into reality. Every detail was perfectly attended to, allowing Katie to spend a few precious moments with her mother and sister before finally seeing her groom. Connor, almost giddy with excitement, instantly started praising Katie and her beauty the moment he turned around. While they loved the design and aesthetic of New Vintage Place, Katie and Connor also felt the downtown streets of Grand Rapids calling their names. With the bridal party in tow, the bride and groom toured the city, including stops in front of the Grand Rapids Art Museum and other iconic landmarks through the city. As the shuttle bus rounded the final corner to drop off the bridal party, guests entered the spacious foyer and continued to follow the beautiful floral accents up to the ceremony space, framed by stunning window panes filled with sunlight. Hank, Katie and Connor’s dog, was lovingly included in the celebration as their surprise ring bearer, and was more than content to watch from a distance as Katie and Connor shared their first kiss as husband and wife. A brief cocktail hour ushered the guests into the main banquet hall, where more florals and delicious food waited to greet them. Soon, speeches had been made, lights had been lowered, and the dancing which would last far into the evening had commenced.

Katie and Connor, to put it simply, you are joy incarnate. We don’t think there was a single moment of your wedding day where the two of you were not either smiling or laughing. Watching you truly enjoy and embrace your wedding day was beautiful to behold, and we think so many couples could learn from you and how you wholly invested yourself into each moment. But even more than that, we know your ability to find the fun and joy in life will now translate into your marriage, and we can only hope that people who come into your life will be encouraged to find the little beauties in life the way you two can. May your joy never cease!
