It was as if the entire garden had sprung to life. Thousands of soft lights sprinkled across the greenery warmed the front patio of Shepherd’s Hollow with a light that seemed to beckon guests to come and discover the beauty housed inside. Upon entering, the sounds and smells of the season took full force as a beautiful display of both Christmas and wedding decorations blended together in a tapestry completely unique to this special time of year. And yet, if one were to look for Emily or Evan, you wouldn’t find them out on the dance floor, but instead sitting down at various tables with their guests, making sure that each and every person felt loved and cared for. This is a beauty of Emily + Evan’s love, both for each other, and their friends and family, and it is a love that was felt throughout the entire day.
The morning air around Shepherd’s Hollow was filled with a mixture of excitement and wonder as the wedding party slowly began to arrive at Shepherd’s Hollow. Both Emily and Evan arrived with a knowing smile on their face, hoping that the next few hours would fly by so they could finally see each other. After spending the morning relaxing and getting ready with their friends, the time to see each other had finally arrived. Their first look was nothing short of breath-taking, as the wind and rain abated to create the perfect pocket of space and time for the two to finally become reunited.
Seeing each other for the first time was just the beginning of the perfect moments we saw between Evan and Emily throughout the next few hours. Holding hands during the ceremony, it was abundantly clear to all that this beautiful moment was one that had been on the horizon of their minds for so long, it was almost impossible for Evan and Emily to believe that it was finally here. The reception began shortly after the close of the ceremony, allowing guests to adequately take in the beautiful, ornate interior of Shepherd’s Hollow, accompanied with great food and even greater times with each other as the dance floor opened and the celebration truly began.
Emily and Evan, we often talk about our wedding days on the drive home, and as we recounted your day, we kept coming back to this thought: “We just love how Emily and Evan cared for each other and others around them today.” So much of this world is “Me-focused,” always wanting things to be about ourselves instead of looking to those around us and making them feel special. Many could learn from the example you both showed on your wedding day, as you perfectly balanced celebrating each other while also celebrating the ones who have traveled along with you to this point in your lives. We are beyond honored to have been a little part of your lives so far and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for the newest Mr. and Mrs. Bylett!
All our best!
