Ellie + Todd | Exquisite, Country Club Wedding | Midland Country Club | Midland, MI

The sounds of little laughter teased around the corner as Todd slowly walked outside. He could hear the leaves rustling in the bushes, cuing him to where the surprise would eventually come from. Once he was in position, two little figures in pure white tip-toed out from behind the bushes and stood right behind their uncle, ready to surprise him with their pretty dresses. It hardly took two seconds after Todd had turned for the tears to begin flowing, as he knelt down to hug these little girls he and Ellie loved so much. This was the perfect start to the day, but he knew that in a few minutes, he would be experiencing another “first,” but this time, he would be holding the hand of his beautiful fiancé.

The beginning of Ellie and Todd’s day began with both friends and family arriving at the Midland Country Club, ready to begin the festivities. Ellie had specifically requested that Todd be able to see his two nieces who they babysit often before their own first touch, showing her incredible care and thoughtfulness for her groom. While guests began to arrive, Todd was able to not only experience a first look with his little nieces, but he was also able to spend some quiet moments with his bride, tucked around a corner, as they shared the vows that they only hoped could convey how much they loved each other. In contrast with the quiet moments before, the ceremony space was filled to standing room only, reminding the guests of how much the bride and groom were loved by each of them.

After a whirlwind of family photos and their now-combined bridal party, Ellie and Todd were whisked away in a portrait session that looked more like a villa in the countryside than a country club golf course. We were instantly transported back to Ellie and Todd’s engagement shoot as we found ourselves captivated by the laughter and the love these two seemed to draw out of each other. The talented Midland venue team was able to flip Ellie and Todd’s ceremony space in record time, allowing the full, grandiose nature of the ballroom to shine as their guests entered. It wasn’t long before the pleasantries were behind them as Ellie and Todd took to the dance floor to celebrate with both friends and family.

Ellie and Todd, you two are what every couple dreams of and hopes to be on their wedding day. You were stunning, not stressed in the least, and able to enjoy fully and intentional enjoy the day. As you begin this new and beautiful life together, remember to channel that same energy for your marriage: don’t be stressed and enjoy each day full and intentionally. Your wedding was simply perfect, but now you get to begin an even better part of life, being married to the love of your life. We couldn’t be happier for you two and can’t wait to see what the newest Mr. And Mrs Wysong do as husband and wife!
