Chelsea + Allen | Engagement | Midland, Michigan

Every person on this planet is beautifully unique. They have their own likes and dislikes, passions and frustrations; and as they move through life, these things come together to make us who we are today. We think that what makes you unique is a special touch that anyone can bring to their engagement session, and when Chelsea asked if we could possibly incorporate Allen’s love of planes into their portraits, we couldn’t say “Yes!” fast enough.

Midland is quickly becoming one of our favorite towns in all of Michigan to travel to for weddings and engagement sessions. We meet Allen last year while photographing his brother’s wedding, and almost 5 months later, we were getting the call from Chelsea and Allen to see if we would make the trip back up to Midland, this time for their wedding!

There is simple sweetness to these two, that we kept trying to pinpoint throughout their entire session. Maybe it was the moment they first laughed during the session, showing that they had come ready to enjoy the evening. Or maybe it was when Allen intentionally spent time thanking each and every one of the airport employees who stayed late so that we could make this dream of theirs a reality. But then, it hit us: Chelsea and Allen were just being “them.” And we think that is going to make their wedding day that much more beautiful.

Chelsea and Allen, the entire evening felt like a single moment with you. We found ourselves sad as the sun passed over the trees and the last bits of light came over the horizon because it meant your session had come to close. Thankfully, we know that Midland will soon be our destination as we come back to spend the day with you, this time to celebrate your wedding!
