Cara + Noah | Engagement Shoot | Warren Dunes State Park | New Buffalo, MI

“Soulmate” is a term we tend to hear a lot in today’s world, especially when it comes to weddings and marriage. But sometimes, the term can become so overused that we lose sight of what it really means. To have someone who is a “mate of your soul” speaks to a connection that goes so much deeper than mere “butterflies in your stomach” when you see them, it’s a connection that completely changes your life and how you see the world. After spending the evening with Cara and Noah, it is so apparent that they have truly found their “soulmate” in each other, and the joy they share with each other is just the beginning!

As we rolled up to Warren Dunes State Park to begin Cara and Noah’s engagement session, the Saturday crowds seemed to line each and every parking place. Instead of being stressed or concerned with what other people would think, Cara and Noah effortlessly flowed into their portraits, creating the illusion that they were the only ones on the beach. Although Cara and Noah had already won our hearts by the time we started taking photos, their fur baby and star of the show, Mel, joined us soon after to send the fun of the evening soaring to new heights! Their creativity in designing the aesthetic for their session included a romantic champagne pop and the loveliest details sprinkled throughout their outfit choices.

Cara and Noah, the evening we were able to spend with you reminded us of one of the biggest reasons we began this journey in photography: a deep desire to capture the love and joy that is found when someone finds their soulmate. In a world that talks about marriage simply being “the ball and chain,” you both shine as a beautiful example of “soulmates”: two people who love each other and are so ready to begin their life together, and we can’t wait to be there to celebrate with you.
