The grounds of the estate hummed with excitement. Mickey waited patiently in the Carriage House, enjoying the last few moments of stillness before the day’s festivities began. Suddenly, in a flurry of excitement, his friends and family told him the words he had waited years for: his bride had arrived. As Bridget strolled to the grassy knoll where she would see her fiancé for the first time, memories of visits and years gone by flooded through her mind. Who could have dreamed that the same house that held so many family memories would be the place where she would see her husband for the first time on their wedding day? It was a poetic beginning of a day that would soon enthrall all who joined in the celebration.
And what a perfect celebration it was. Far from their home in New York City, Bridget and Mickey had decided long ago to return to the area of Bridget’s childhood to have their wedding. While their final preparations for the day happened in separate locations, no other space seemed appropriate for Bridget and Mickey to reunite with each other than a family’s private residence; a secluded glade with an adorable cottage that provided a “fairy tale-esque” backdrop for the most tender of first looks. With friends and family joining their party, Bridget and Mickey eagerly traveled across town to the magnificent grounds of Meadow Brook Hall, the final destination of the day for the promised bride and groom. After spending some time touring the grounds, they slipped inside for a few last portraits as guests began to arrive. The formal garden, complete with a flowing, flowering arch beckoned the guests to come and gaze upon the beautiful grounds, as the soft music of strings filled the air. Bridget donned a cathedral veil for her procession into the garden with her father, a perfect balance of tradition combined with the stunning Justin Alexander gown, “Estelle.” Vows were shared and tears were shed, and soon the patio of Meadow Brook invited guests to the delectable treats and live music of cocktail hour. This sweet time concluded in a touching set of speeches toasting to the good fortune and the two incredible people everyone had come together to celebrate. After moving inside, the reception began without delay, and soon the surprise that Bridget and Mickey had planned for months was finally ready to be revealed. The music for their first dance had barely started and the room was already in an uproar. Bridget and Mickey, alone on the dance floor, exploded into choreography that could only be described as “show-stopping.” The sultry sounds of Michael Buble’s “Sway” echoed through the tent, as the newest Mr. and Mrs. Croce practically floated across the floor, blowing away all “first dance” expectations and beckoning everyone to come and join them in the magic.
Bridget and Mickey, as we left your reception, we looked back one last time and saw you both in the heart of the dance floor, with the same brilliant smiles you had the first moment we met you on your engagement shoot last year. We have seen first hand the adoration you both have for each other, and the joy that you bring to each other and to everyone around you. This inner joy has been and will continue to be a gift to the world, as anyone who spends time with you always leaves with good memories and sore ribs (from laughing just a little bit too hard.) New York feels so far away, but we are so grateful for the time we have been able to spend with you. We hope that this is not “goodbye” but instead “see you later”; but until then, we wish you many years filled with romantic dances, late night laughter, and the very best life has to offer!
All our best!
