As he quietly opened the light blue book, words and feelings from years gone by appeared across the pages. The focus of friends and family alike rested on him, but no one’s attention was as important as the one who had inspired him to begin saving these thoughts and musings for this exact day. As Andrew began sharing, Kyra was able to hear the thoughts of the man she had both fallen in love with over the years and the man who was now about to become her husband. Their story had been nothing short of spectacular so far, and as Andrew recounted only a few of the precious memories they had together, Kyra softly smiled, dreaming of what the future held for them.
The clouds that plagued Michigan’s east coast slowly departed throughout the early morning hours, revealing a stunning, sun-filled day. The sounds of preparations echoed through the historic walls of the War Memorial, a gentle hint at the beauty that was soon to welcome Kyra and Andrew’s guests. The suites at the War Memorial provided the perfect backdrop for both Kyra and Andrew to prepare for the day, and before they knew it, their separate paths which wove through the morning finally came together at their intimate first look. The quiet, elegant hallways set the perfect scene for their portraits, as guests began to gather out on the back lawn, prepared and eager to celebrate. With petite fans in hand and high spirits in their hearts, family and friends found themselves greeted by the iconic silhouette of the War memorial, a backdrop for the ceremony that rivaled most. As the ceremony began, cheers arose from the crowd as Andrew’s grandmother stole the show as the official “flower-girl,” a subtle nod from Kyra and Andrew showing how much her story and her impact of their lives meant to them. Once their vows and rings were shared, the moment Kyra and Andrew had waited for years was finally here, and before they knew it, they were walking back down the aisle amidst cheers and congratulations by all. Cocktail hour quickly ensued, and while guests milled around the beautiful private grounds of the War Memorial, Kyra and Andrew stole away to experience the reveal of the reception design that Fear No More events had tirelessly assembled throughout the day. With the bride and groom thoroughly prepared for the celebration to officially launch into the evening, the Dan Rafferty Band welcomed the crowd of guests into the reception space. After a few sweet words by some of the dearest and most important people in their lives, Kyra and Andrew ended the last sun-filled moments of the day taking in their venue, taking in the beautiful sunset, and taking in the fact that the “forever” they had dreamed of was finally here.
Kyra and Andrew, we still reminisce about the first evening we met you. Instead of speeding away after your engagement session, you two graciously spent the rest of the daylight we had to invest in good conversation and to build a connection with us that we still feel to this day. We didn’t know it then, but now we know beyond a shadow of the doubt that this show of kindness is the simplest, purest expression of how you two view the world and the people in it. This sweet spirit defines you both, and bringing that kindness into your marriage is going to be such a beautiful foundation on which to build a life together. The world has been blessed to have you both in it, and now, it is even more blessed now that you have become the newest Mr. and Mrs. Turnbull!
Cheers!
