Tears flowed from both sides of the wall. Connor tenderly yet firmly gripped the hand of the one person he wanted to see more than anyone else as she read her vows to him; the proclamation of her love and commitment to him for the rest of their lives. Turning around would be so easy, and yet, he knew that he had waited this long; a few more moments wouldn’t kill him. The next few minutes seemed like hours as the ceremony approached, but finally, he found himself standing at the end of the aisle, excitedly waiting for his patience to pay off. The curtain swung open, and as Alexis walked down into the courtyard, the tears that had fallen during their vows returned once again. However, this time, there was no wall between them, and Connor could finally see the person he was about to spend the rest of his life with.

The sun rose over the pure white exterior of Etre Farms, marking the beginning of the most magical day for Alexis and Connor. While Alexis and her girls were taken care of by only the best vendors, Connor and his groomsmen celebrated the morning by donning their favorite sports team’s gear and representing their favorites throughout the venue’s campus. The grand dining hall was already perfectly prepared by Etre’s team with a subtle mixture of black and white elements mixed with Alexis’ favorite floral: white tulips. While the hustle and bustle of arriving guests and celebratory congratulations echoed over the grounds, Alexis and Connor found time to sneak away and share one last intimate moment with each other before the ceremony by reading their own personal vows to each other. It’s safe to say that nothing could have prepared Connor adequately though, as the first sight of Alexis brought him to tears, a moment that felt like it was right out of a movie. After the ceremony, while their guests enjoyed cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres, Alexis and Connor stole away for a few precious moments to be by themselves and also in front of the camera for their portrait time, including a surprise appearance by the only sunlight of the entire day. Golf has always been an important piece of Alexis and Connor’s story, and thankfully, Etre had just the thing to bring that unique element into their wedding day: their own private putting green on the front lawn. The crowd could barely contain themselves as Alexis and Connor entered Etre’s grand ballroom amidst cheers and celebration. After a few kind words from family and friends, the evening’s celebration was officially underway; and once the dance floor opened, guests spread out across all of Etre’s campus to explore and enjoy all that the beautiful venue had to offer. A last-minute photo session ended up bringing a vibe all its own to the evening, as Alexis and Connor brought their own style and charisma to some of Etre’s most unique elements.

Alexis and Connor, to say that you two are “one in a million” is quite literally an understatement. Your dynamic as a couple, outlook on life, and impact on others is felt by everyone around you, and we are so honored to have been touched by your influence over the last year. From exploring downtown Grand Rapids on your engagement shoot to closing out the night with a champagne pop at Etre, our story with you has been one of our favorites of this year, and the fact that we already have plans to see each other again makes saying “goodbye” a little less sad. So here’s to the Seymours, may your life and love be a beautiful gift shared with all of those around you!
