Cheers arose from the onlookers as they passed by. The celebration had finally begun, and it felt like the whole city had decided to join in. Warm Detroit weather was a distant memory as the breeze brought a soothing cool to Dean’s passengers. As the iconic Ford cruised through the streets of the downtown, excitement mixed with just a bit of joy seemed to flow from Taylor’s eyes as she gazed at the man who was now hers forever. For the first time, the world was seeing them not as two, but as one, in their first public appearance as Mr. and Mrs. Wilson. They knew that they had a long evening ahead of them filled with dancing and celebration, but for these few minutes, Taylor and Matt simply sat back and soaked in every second of their wedding day.
The term “magical” does not even come close to describing the beauty of Taylor and Matt’s wedding day. Beginning their life as husband and wife with their faith at the center was always important to Taylor and Matt, so it seemed only fitting for their ceremony to be held at the cathedral of Detroit’s Sweetest Heart of Mary. Following the ceremony Taylor and Matt departed the church to find the iconic “Dean” from Motor City Vintage Rentals waiting for them. The ride to their portraits at the Detroit Institute of Arts was filled with cheers and congratulations from patrons all throughout Detroit, and by the time they arrived at the DIA, they had almost earned the status of “celebrity.” Beautiful moments abounded at the DIA, as their portrait time was filled with love and laughter. However, the day was still far from over, as the 1940 Ford departed the Art Institute, perused the crowded streets of Detroit, and finally rounded the corner to their venue, the Colony Club. Taylor, a modern day princess, was escorted out of the car by her real-life “knight in shining armor,” and after a quick tuxedo change, the newlyweds were finally ready for the evening to begin. The stunning ballroom nestled in the heart of Detroit completely took the breath of anyone who entered, especially Taylor and Matt as they were able to stroll through the grand hall before anyone else entered. Kind words with the speeches abounded as both friends and family proclaimed Taylor and Matt’s praises to the rooftops. With dinner finished and guests eager to celebrate, DJ Chachi, a Detroit Legend, welcomed all out onto the dance floor with a mixture of cultural and popular dances and that beckoned all out onto the dance floor.
Taylor and Matt, you both so perfectly embody the phrase “make sure you take time to enjoy your wedding day.” All throughout the day, there was wonder and joy in your eyes, from your beautiful ceremony at Sweetest Heart to your first dance in the halls of the Colony Club. The ability to truly enjoy life is a quality that most spend their entire life seeking after, but when we watch you two, we see a couple who not only finds enjoyment in life, but specifically in life with each other. It’s so beautiful to see two people who love just being with each other, and now, you have the rest of your lives to enjoy life with each other.
All our best!
