Abbey + Caleb | Engagement Shoot | Chicago, IL

The sounds of the cars and the streets seemed like they were miles away. A quiet side street opened up in beautiful sunlight as a lone pair of pedestrians strolled through the empty street. They had walked this area many times before, as their favorite brunch spot in the entire city was just a block over. Although the evening had just begun, these first few moments gave us a glimpse into the beauty and joy that Abbey and Caleb were going to bring to the streets of Chicago that evening.

When Abbey and Caleb asked about the possibility of having their engagement session in their home of downtown Chicago, we couldn’t say “yes!” quickly enough. Instead of simply going with a “traditional” engagement session, Abbey and Caleb hoped to integrate different pieces of their lives into the session, creating the aesthetic of “a couple enjoying a night out on the town.” Our evening with them was marked by not only beautiful portraits, but also beautiful conversations as we spent much of our transition times listening as these two shared story after story of what life looked like for them as they moved towards the wedding day.

Abbey and Caleb, when we first met you at a previous wedding, we felt like we knew what to expect for your engagement shoot. However, the fun and good times we had with you during your engagement session completely blew our expectations away as we were able to see the pure beauty in your relationship shine through your portraits. From sweet intimate moments to laughing out loud in the streets of Chicago, you both exhibit a natural flair for enjoying life, and we can’t think of a better trait to have as you continue moving towards your wedding day!
