As Ian stood up from the head table, Ally and Ian both glanced out over the grand hall of Black River Barn, filled with the people who had characterized their lives. Friends and family looked back at the newlyweds, wondering what the couple was going to say as the evening festivities were about to begin. What followed was a simple, heart-felt “thank you” from the couple, to everyone who had been there for them throughout their lives. Moments like this are not uncommon at weddings, but this night felt different. This night was not only about celebrating Ally and Ian, but it was also about celebrating their journey to this day and those who helped them get there.
Although Ally and Ian’s wedding day took place in the middle of the Michigan summer, a cool breeze blew in off of Lake Michigan to create the perfect weather for the perfect day. A morning filled with spending time with friends culminated in a first look that literally brought tears to the eyes of those who were able to catch a glimpse of it, and the ceremony painted a beautiful picture of what life was going to look like for Ally and Ian after they were married. But one of the most powerful moments of the day by far was when all of their guests lined the path as Ally and Ian walked through after their ceremony, celebrating the two that they all adored.
Black River Barn hosted yet another fabulous event, as Ally and Ian’s guests were able to enjoy the outdoor lounge areas both before and after the ceremony. The great hall was lovingly adorned by the talented teams at EnGedi Bridal and White Dahlia events, transforming the space into a “ballroom” aesthetic that paired perfectly with Ally’s beautiful Martina Liana bridal gown. As the formalities finished and the dance floor opened, Shawn with Jellyfish Productions lit up the evening as crowds of people flooded the floor to continue celebrating Ally and Ian long into the evening.
Ally and Ian, although we have only known you two for about year, we have so admired you and your journey. We know that life has not been the easiest for you two, but the way that you both lean into each other for support, comfort, and love is what marriage is all about; and in many ways, you are already years ahead of where other newlyweds are in that regard. We know that that support and encouragement you have in each other will only grow now as husband and wife, and we are looking forward to seeing how you two bring those qualities into other’s lives as well!
All our best!
