Spectacular Orchard Wedding at William’s Orchard | Rolling Prairie, Indiana | Esta + Hunter

People’s dreams rarely happen how they imagine. As Detroit wedding photographers, we have seen time and time again when a dream is changed and molded throughout the planning process, ending at a beautiful place that may not have exactly been what our brides and groom envisioned. However, Esta and Hunter have a different story. From our first moments together, Esta shared her vision of an orchard with tables lining the path, with soft candle light and laughter rising into the air. For months, we waited with baited breath along with Esta and Hunter to see if the weather would cooperate and give them the best wedding gift they could possibly receive: a fulfilled dream.

The Morning at the House

The sunrise was welcomed with the sounds of hustle and bustle. People descended upon the venue to begin the design setup for Esta and Hunter’s spectacular orchard wedding. The farmhouse sat opposite of the venue space, a safe haven for both Esta and her girls to prepare for the day ahead. Esta was even able to share a tender first look with not only her father, but her brothers as well. Hunter and his groomsmen arrived ready for the celebration ahead, and after taking a few moments to prepare in the Orchard, were tucked inside as well as guests began to arrive.

The Hilltop Ceremony

As guests stepped onto the lawn, they were astounded by what they saw before them. The reception space welcomed all with details designed and created by Esta’s family, from the crest on the tapestries to the elegant dinner setting in the midst of the orchard. They would have to wait a few moments though for those festivities, as everyone was beckoned up onto a nearby hilltop for the ceremony. For the first time, Esta and Hunter were able to see each other, and they were able to not only share their feelings through their vows, but also through letters written to each other’s parents. The scene was right out of a novel, as Hunter took Esta in his arms to kiss his wife high on the hilltop to the applause of the crowd.

The Moments Between

After a few photos with their friends and family, Esta and Hunter quietly slipped away from their orchard wedding for a few moments with the sunset. The light cast a golden glow that could only be a sign of good fortune, as Esta traded her shoes for white cowboy boots so she could properly frolic through the field. Back at the venue far away, the second round of vendors began to arrive and prepare for the meal ahead, complete with pizzas straight from a wood-fire oven. By the time Esta and Hunter had arrived back from their portrait session, the air was filled with laughter and delicious aromas. The speeches were proclaimed from the second floor terrace of the William’s Orchard, with a sunset to rival the greatest of artists beginning to form behind the crowd.

Dinner in the Orchard

The hilltop filled with guests as they tried to capture the beauty of the millions of colors sprawled across the sky. In a flash, the last bits of sun sneaking over the trees, the warm daylight gave way to a soft, candle glow that beckoned guests into the next chapter of the spectacular orchard wedding. The vision that Esta had prayed for months for was finally realized, as everyone found their seats nestled in the most romantic of settings. While everyone enjoyed their meal, Esta requested a small interruption to the dinner hour. Her bouquet in hand, she walked among the apple trees, giving her praise and thanks to the person who had made this day come to life: her mother. Esta ended her thanks by handing her bouquet to her mother, and a few minutes later, led the charge to the dance floor. The night air could not have been more perfect, as the dance floor was ignited by lights and vibes that lasted long into the evening. The evening crescendoed in a flurry of cheers and sparks as Esta and Hunter drove off and into the night, still unsure whether the day they had just experienced was a dream or reality.

The Congratulations

Esta + Hunter, we still remember seeing your eyes light up when you shared the vision for the wedding day. The orchard, the food, the celebration for all, and now that we have seen it come to fruition, we know that this day was everything you ever wanted. The kindness and connection you displayed was inspiring, and to see the relationship both you and your families share is so incredibly special for this day and age. We are so excited to see the life that you two create and bless the world with!
