Lauren + James | Engagement Shoot | South Haven, MI

Taking risks can be nerve-racking. Sometimes taking a “leap of faith” feels like it is going to end up as a plummet into failure; but we also know that if it pays off, it could be more valuable than you could possibly imagine. Our couples take a “leap of faith” every time they first inquire with us, and they continue taking leaps of faith throughout the weeks and months to follow as they come to us for guidance and advice. No engagement session is more symbolic of this than Lauren and Jimmy’s beach-side engagement shoot, which we sneaked in between thunderstorms and high winds for a coastal, romantic evening.

Even though the weather would cause many to become nervous, Lauren and Jimmy rolled with each and every decision we made, and their beautiful portraits show it. From exploring the streets of South Haven’s North Beach to enjoying a rare evening of no visitors crowding the beach, Lauren and Jimmy made every second of their evening in South Haven worth it. Because they took the risk to beat out the storm, they not only were able to have a session that perfectly captured them as a couple, but they also picked up a special date night at one of their favorite restaurants in South Haven!

Lauren and James, we still can’t believe that it was over a year that we first met, and yet, it only took 5 minutes for the laughter and jokes to start back up between us. The fact that we will get to see you again in just two months makes this session even more special to us, and we can’t wait to spend the day laughing and celebrating with you both. Thank you so much for taking the “leap of faith,” not only for us in photography, but also in your pursuit of marriage. It’s so worth it.
